Celebrate the Educational Achievements of Georgia’s
Foster Youth

The Celebration of Excellence  is an annual graduation event and scholarship program hosted by the state of Georgia Independent Living Program  to recognize the educational achievements of  over 300 youth in Georgia’s foster care system who are graduating from high school, GED programs, vocational school, or college. 

Over the last twenty-three years the event has included special guests like Grammy award winning artist NeYo, Houston Rockets basket ball player Dwight Howard,  television personality and foster youth alumna Victoria Rowell, Georgia First Lady Sandra Deal, Former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue and his wife Mary, Falcon’s football players and a variety of television and radio personalities.
